Privacy policy

Last updated 1 October 2026

Savanna Spot (RC 9527827), "we", runs savannaspot.com. We respect your privacy and handle personal data in line with the Nigeria Data Protection Act 2023. This page explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

What we collect

  • When you send a booking request, list your venue or join a city waitlist: your name, phone number and/or email, and what you tell us (for example dates, number of guests, venue details and your message).
  • To stop spam: a scrambled, one-way code made from your internet address. We never store the address itself.
  • To show your city first: your approximate state, worked out by our hosting provider from your internet connection when you open the homepage. We use it once to pick the nearest city we cover and never store it.
  • In your browser:your light or dark theme choice and the city you picked, so the site remembers them on your device. We don't use advertising or tracking cookies.

Why we use it

  • To reply to you and arrange the booking or listing you asked about (with your consent, and to take steps you requested).
  • To pass your booking request to the venue so they can confirm availability.
  • To keep the website secure and free of spam (our legitimate interest).

We never sell your personal data or use it for advertising.

Who we share it with

  • The venue you asked to book, only the details needed to confirm your request.
  • Service providers that run the site for us under contract: Vercel (website hosting), Supabase (database, servers in the EU) and Resend (email, servers in the EU). They may only use the data to provide their service to us.
  • Authorities, only where the law requires it.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiries for up to 24 months after our last contact with you, then delete them. Spam-prevention codes are deleted along with the enquiry.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal data we hold about you, correct it, delete it, or withdraw your consent at any time. You can also object to how we use it. If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Nigeria Data Protection Commission.

To use any of these rights, contact us through the "List your venue" form and say it's a privacy request. We reply within 30 days.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, our database blocks all public access, and only authorised Savanna Spot staff can see enquiries.

Children

Savanna Spot is not meant for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.

Changes

If we change this policy, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
